can’t wait…

April 10, 2007

I can’t wait for my exams to be over with. Until now I haven’t decided what course to take this summer… CCIT course looks really interesting and so does the art course… (this summer, they’re offering photography) … *sigh*

another reason why I can’t wait for summer is … I want to watch my newly DL anime episodes!… I’ve downloaded Tokyo majin gakuen kenpucho tou episodes 5-9, I just can’t watch it because…well.. exams and studies first right? besides, I have a whole lot of catching up to do. I also download Venus Versus Virus episodes 1 – 8… I’m dying to start watching it. From the previews and the reviews I’ve read, Venus Versus Virus looks like a promising anime (just like Tokyo Majin..) Infact, Tokyo majin already captured my heart

chapter 270 ichiruki-centric

April 8, 2007

Okay, I know I’m suppose to be doing my report but after taking a break and reading the latest chapter, I can’t just sit here and not rant about it. I’m just doing a small rant though … and well, just a warning, this is ichiruki based (because I love ichiruki, enough said.

I love reading ichiruki related blogs especially Ileenka and the others (ie. Syn, etc.). I love their arguments and their insights. Their points and arguments makes sooo much sense, and their arguments are not just so that they can have a point for ichigo rukia. First off, I want to confess, yes recently, and even before, I really hate Orihime’s character. I may say that I hated her from the start, it was like hate at first sight. (I’m sorry Orihime lovers…) I am a very Ichiruki bias person and I admit that. I hate her because, as every devoted fans, I see her as a threat to Ichiruki (which is bad…) but as I continue to watch Bleach, I grew to love her. She’s not that bad, actually, she’s cute and lovable. I just still don’t like the thought of Ichiori. Lately though, I am slowly disliking her again because of the way KT portrays her character. Orihime’s character has developed into a girl who’s life is centered on a boy – ichigo-centered. Well, sure she is inlove and can’t really blame her for making Ichigo her main focus, but to make a guy your world? your all?… I think not. Not only that, but also to forget all of your friends, even your bestfriend for a guy?… (well, not really forget but ignore…) *sigh*

anyways, back to chapter 270. This chapter is really awesome. Go read Illeenka’s and the others’ thoughts about 270. Anyway, what do I think about this chapter? I love it. It supports Ichiruki. Ichigo, turning back on an enemy? I’ve never seen that. Ichigo has faced every enemy, every opponent that he’s faced with. To deny Ulquiorra because Ulquiorra haven’t done anything to his friends?… my reaction -> O.O wth?… Ichigo’s trying to ignore Ulquiorra because he wants to go to Rukia badly. He doesn’t want to loose any time fighting an enemy. He just wants to be with Rukia, again, He wants to be with Rukia- to save her. The thought of saving Orihime just dissolved in an instant.

I am not against the idea of Ichigo going to Orihime to save her. Besides, it’s suppose to be their reason for going there (see how I used *suppose*). I just don’t like how IchiOri fans are making it seem that Rukia’s condition right now is not important, and that Ichigo’s just ignoring it. I am not thrashing anyone, but I just don’t like it when they say that Ichigo, when he heard about Rukia’s condition just turned his back. I mean… wth? turned his back? so they meant to say that Rukia’s nothing?… tsk tsk… really bad.

Orihime in this chapter is really sweet. I like her here. I like this kind of Orihime where she shows concern for her comrades and not just Ichigo.

tagalog movies marathon

April 7, 2007

Holy Week, therefore we don’t have classes :)
With the school year ending fast and piles of projects that are due this monday, I should really get on going. But what did I do?… watch tagalog movies XD

We don’t have TFC so we rely on DVDs and VCDs that friends are willing to share for our dose of tagalog movies. While in the Philippines, I am not so much of a fan of them… I find them not interesting enough… in short, not my cup of tea. It is only now that I’m here (where all I hear is English) that I came to love and crave tagalog movies.

I’ve been away for five years now. I’ve only started watching tagalog movies last year, and boy was I surprise… I don’t know any of the actors/actresses in their! I was like… who’s that? what happened to him/her?… I always find myself lost and confused on the characters. Now I really should get updated on these.

My dad’s friend is a Filipino movie-holic. Actually, their whole family is. They have aloooot of Tagalog movies. They let me borrow a number of them.. (about 10-15 movies). Too bad I have exams and stuff so I can’t really watch them all. But yesterday’s different.. I can’t resist the temptation. She recommended the film called “You are the one”
. The main cast is Toni Gonzaga (which I just saw for the first time…and heard!) and Mike Milby (Im not even sure of the spelling). Thats the first one that we watched. The second one was “Dreamboy” starring Piolo Pascual (now, that guy I recognize XD) and Bea Alonzo? (not too familiar, but I’ve seen her other movies with Lloyd…). The third, which we watched just this morning is “Moments in Time” and the last one that we just saw was “White Lady
You are the One. short summary: Sally (Toni Gonzaga) is a civil worker who is not enthusiastic at all to go to the US. Her parents and her sister is insisting that she go there. She goes to the Embassy, half-heartedly, to get a VISA where she meets Will (Mike Milby), her consul. She explains her reason for going to the US where Will decides to not grant her a VISA. This left an angry Sally. The next day, Will goes to a Sensus office to get information about a Bernard Garcia. He was given a paper to fill in and he fills it in except for the information about the birthplace and the parents’ names. When he was about to submit it, they told him that they can’t do anything about it because the information is not enough. They directed him to the ’special cases’ office where he comes face to face with Sally again. Will doesn’t recognize her, but Sally, upon seeing him, goes instantly outraged….

What can I say about it?… I find it enjoyable and cute. Out of all the movies that I’ve just seen (out of the 4) I like this one best. The story is natural, a romantic-simplistic movie. It was at the same time funny. I really love how Toni Gonzaga portrayed her character. Her acting is so cute, especially her ‘quick-to-slap’ action. Her voice and character is not like those others whom I find ‘Over’ and ‘maarte’. The guy, Mike Milby (not sure XD) is…uhm.okay. He has some cute angles throughout the scene. What I find cute is his struggle to talk in Tagalog. He tends to use ‘tag-lish’ alot and whenever he talks in Tagalog, you can really hear his accent. The other casts are also funny. Overall, this tagalog movie is satisfying. Its not too cheesy, not too serious and not too romantic.

Dreamboy summary: A girl who is into romance books, but is never satisfied with her current life – or love life. She dreams of a grand love story and doesn’t quite know what she wants. Enter Phillip, Eboy and Jaime. Three different personalities, awfully look-alikes. She meets all of them, dates all of them and well..just watch it.

Opinion… I don’t really find it likeable, no offence. The story is shallow and the first scenes are confusing. The character development is confusing too…and so is the love development. All thoughout the film, we were all wondering what happened… why that FAST. The story is like Trueman/Truman (Forgot the spelling) starring Jim Carrey. I find the guy(s) annoying and ‘presko? masyado’. All of them are too proud and arrggh! The love idea in this film is shallow too, just not my taste, so I can’t really comment on it. so, NEXT!

Moments in Time summary: A guy from the present and a girl from the past (45 years apart) is connected through a phone. Both the guy and the girl is presently in that same house, in that same setting and they talk through a phone. The girl, soon-to-be-married slowly falls in love with the guy, and vice-versa.

opinion: The scenes are confusing. Confusing like ‘the Lakehouse’ starring Sandra Bullock. Plot line is okay, like I said, it’s really similar to the Lake House, just with additions and twists. Again, I’m not too familiar with most of the actors/actress, I just recognize those ‘old ones.’ XD

White Lady summary: There’s been an ongoing sightings of a white lady in this art school. This whitelady is vengeful towards this particular group of students.

opinion: The story’s simple too, and kind of confusing. It is suppose to be Horror, but it doesn’t really have that horror feel into it. The only ’scary’ scene that made me jump was when the whitelady is chasing after this character Mimi. It’s not really scary, but ‘nakakagulat’. The white lady here looks awfully like the girl in The Ring. The plotline is okay, I like the small twist of the story at the end. Overall…not really that good, but just okay ^^.

exams and flyff; personals

April 5, 2007

On Exams

Its about a week and 3 days before my first exams… to tell you the truth, I am not at all scared on my upcoming bio exam (well I;m still nervous but im more freaked out by other courses). Im really scared for my psychology exam and Anthropology exam and Sociology, but today… I got some kind of relief when I learned that Sociology is not cumulative! I only have to study stats and the other theories that we learned this 2nd semester. ^^ And Sociology is my last exam, on a thursday. I have three extra days to prepare for it. I know it’s not enough but… three days is better than nothing ^^

on flyff…

lately, I’ve been having troubles logging in..and with exams upcoming… I can’t really level up my characters… T.T
I think my character ‘Shimo’ is bugged. I cannot log in with that character. It always says ‘cannot connect’ even if I try 20x… and when I switch to other characters, I can log in with just one click! oh well…Shimo’s a new character anyway… vagrant so I can just start again.

*tagalog* deeper thoughts
nakakainis nga lang yung mga tao sa flyff minsan… Remember that my main character is an assist… well, meron akong naging friend… well… akala ko friend XD … pag nag lo-login sya sa game, lagi nya ko invite sa party… and I always go with her (character is a she …XD) okay lang ako dun..ang reklamo ko lang kasi, yung party nya laging puro spanish so nag espanol sila diba? … okay lang din yun sakin… bsta ako, as long as I level diba. Ang ayoko lang, lagi nilang mine-mention in game name ko na parang lagi nila ako pinaguusapan tapos may mga tumatawa pa. Eh nahihiya naman akong magtanong sabihin pa nila pakielamera ako… > no bleach this week… it’s somewhat good since now I can focus more on projects? LOL

Younha

April 5, 2007

Younha – A korean born jpop singer and recently- kpop singer. She is also the one who sang “houkiboshi” the 3rd ending song of BLEACH, and other well known anime themes – Te wo tsunaide from Jyu oh sei and Hakanaku Tsuyoku from Kiba. She debuted at a young age of sixteen.

Her voice is powerful. Her style has somewhat a mix of rock in it. Her voice to me, can be compared to Maki’s of high and mighty – strong, powerful, lovely. The first song I heard from her was Houkiboshi. The way she sang the song, her high notes, it is amazing. Her piano skills is also superb. Watching her live performances and how she plays the piano while singing upbeat songs is just truly amazing.

Younha – Houkiboshi live

My sister just found this video from youtube. This one, I had my jaw drop (well, not literary XD). Her english is really awesome, I wonder how much English education she did- I mean, compared to other korean singers, her english is outstanding. She sound so fluent that I did not have a hard time figuring out what she’s saying. (no offense okay?). I can compare it to DBSK’s international version of HUG. This is Younha’s live performance of How do I live

Younha- How do I live (live)

See her pronounciations? It is clear. I don’t complain when others try to sing english songs but other people really are bothered by it. They say ’so and so butchered the song’. But in Younha’s case, I don’t see any reason why anyone would even try to say that. Her english is just perfect! her english is just perfect! (hold on…did I already mention that her english is perfect?)

How talented can Younha get? First, she is so fluent in Japanese. Her japanese skills have skyrocketed. Her improvement is awesome. And now what? English? Let’s count.
1. She debuted successfully at an early age
2. Her piano skills are godly
3. Fluent in Japanese
4. English is outstanding

That girl just keeps on surprising me ^^. To think she’s my age too! XD I won’t be surprise if Younha someday becomes international.

tokyo majin gakuen kenpuchou tou

April 4, 2007

no. of episodes= 25 *edited*

I first came across this anime from reading one of my frequented anime blog sites novastorm. I was bored then and looked at the entry of first episodes where he puts in first impressions and such. The images he provided also added to my interest with this anime. The summary caught my attention and I just have to watch it quick.

First impression… I really like the animation and the art (character designs and everything) so i guess it was love at first sight…i mean… frist watch XD, and so far (I’ve watched upto episode 4) is hasn’t failed me yet. The first episode was confusing with the shifting time frames- and it remains pretty much the same in the following next episodes. This shifts of time frames adds to the beauty of the anime. My sister commented that the style kinda reminds of Haruhi Suzumiya.

Whenever I learn about a new show, I always look forward not to the animation quality itself but to the beauty of theme songs (op and ed). Usually, I first watch the op and ed and rate the anime from there. To my disappointment, the first episode doesn’t contain any OP nor ED. The second episode (which I will be blogging next) reveals the most awaited theme song and what can I say? Im fully amazed! not only is the video quality amazing, and the scenes so powerful, the song totally rocks! Go download it! I might post a link, if not, you can always download it on nipponsei. Both the op and ed is by ACID.

My rating? 9/10. I think this is one of the best anime released this year. I have high hopes for this anime and hope that it will remain that way ^^

courses +exams

April 3, 2007

one-and-a-half weeks left before exams and I still have tons of things to do. 2 written projects still and a test… then hello exams! I am writting five exams this semester….*sarcasm*woohoooo

I am trying out and finding my way in this wordpress and so far, I am enjoying it ^^. I will update more and maybe do some layout designs when exams are over. Til then, updates will be a slow process.

I will be declaring my majors/minors/specialists this April… and so far, I can’t decide whether to take CCIT course or Bio course… one thing’s for sure though, I’m taking Psychology as one of my majors (and if possible… specialists if my grades permitted it) … CCIT course is interesting… it stands for culture, communications information technology- its more of advertising, graphics, codings… those kinds of things which i actually spend most of my time on. In the other hand… I can’t let go of my love for Biology. Bio is really hard but just can’t let go of it even if it means me staying up all night, reading and… loosing my mind. ^^ *sigh*

I still have 1 week to decide..and if I screw up..maybe I can just change my majors later? … not a good thing though…
