Younha

By tsukibanii

Younha – A korean born jpop singer and recently- kpop singer. She is also the one who sang “houkiboshi” the 3rd ending song of BLEACH, and other well known anime themes – Te wo tsunaide from Jyu oh sei and Hakanaku Tsuyoku from Kiba. She debuted at a young age of sixteen.

Her voice is powerful. Her style has somewhat a mix of rock in it. Her voice to me, can be compared to Maki’s of high and mighty – strong, powerful, lovely. The first song I heard from her was Houkiboshi. The way she sang the song, her high notes, it is amazing. Her piano skills is also superb. Watching her live performances and how she plays the piano while singing upbeat songs is just truly amazing.

Younha – Houkiboshi live

My sister just found this video from youtube. This one, I had my jaw drop (well, not literary XD). Her english is really awesome, I wonder how much English education she did- I mean, compared to other korean singers, her english is outstanding. She sound so fluent that I did not have a hard time figuring out what she’s saying. (no offense okay?). I can compare it to DBSK’s international version of HUG. This is Younha’s live performance of How do I live

Younha- How do I live (live)

See her pronounciations? It is clear. I don’t complain when others try to sing english songs but other people really are bothered by it. They say ’so and so butchered the song’. But in Younha’s case, I don’t see any reason why anyone would even try to say that. Her english is just perfect! her english is just perfect! (hold on…did I already mention that her english is perfect?)

How talented can Younha get? First, she is so fluent in Japanese. Her japanese skills have skyrocketed. Her improvement is awesome. And now what? English? Let’s count.
1. She debuted successfully at an early age
2. Her piano skills are godly
3. Fluent in Japanese
4. English is outstanding

That girl just keeps on surprising me ^^. To think she’s my age too! XD I won’t be surprise if Younha someday becomes international.
